Clyde David Metcalf, 72, of Lincolnton, North Carolina, formerly of Lake Lure, North Carolina, passed away Feb. 14, 2018, at Carolinas HealthCare in Lincolnton. 

He was born in Polk County, North Carolina, to the late Fate Metcalf and Florence Green Metcalf. Clyde was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight Lines.

He was also predeceased by a sister, Ollie Mae Hoots.

He is survived by his companion, Puff Naso of Lincolnton; former wife, Polly Metcalf of Cherryville, North Carolina; daughter, Pam Hance of Commanche, Oklahoma; sons, Travis Metcalf of Olin, North Carolina and Phillip Metcalf of Cherryville; sister, Pauline Edwards of Mill Spring, North Carolina; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Sunday Feb. 25, 2018, at Sanders Funeral Chapel in Columbus, North Carolina.

Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
