The Carolina Carriage Club prepares for driving season

TRYON – Racing over a challenging course behind a good team can take a driver’s breath away. The horses seem to know how close they can cut that turn to just miss the carriage wheels and how fast they can fly through the water hazard and across the bridge.

Other drivers prefer a quiet jog down a tree-shaded lane with a good pony and a small meadowbrook cart. Regardless of the driver’s skill, the spring Carolina Carriage Club’s driving clinic is a perfect opportunity to brush up on driving skills after a cold winter.

February 24-25 international competitor Janelle Marshall, will offer instruction for drivers of all levels. The clinic includes ground driving to advanced competition prep. Marshall is an advanced driver who competed in the 2011 and 2013 world championships and was the US Equestrian Federation (USEF) 2010 reserve national Single Pony Champion.
