Tryon Arts & Crafts School is kicking off February’s “award season” with an award show of their own. Their Artist of the Year Show, which opens this Friday, Feb. 2, will feature red-carpet interviews by Kai Elijah Hamilton (who also designed the show).

The show will be open through March 15 at 373 Harmon Field Road, and features artwork by 12 of TACS’ Artists of the Month for 2017 (Camille Corn, Bernard Edwards, Ann Gleason, Tyson Graham, Patricia Novella Hayes, Sandra Jimison, Ernie Kan, Verlie Murphy, Katie Poterala, Nathan Smith, Daniel Wilcox, and Patty Wright) as well as works by regional artists done in the color red.

Aside from enjoying the artwork and delicious hors d’oeuvres, attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for Artist of the Year, Best Supporting Artist and Best Original Artwork, and the awards will be announced by officials of other local Tryon galleries.
