Landrum receives clean audit

In the Jan. 9 meeting of the Landrum City Council the council adopted the audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017. The report prepared by McAbee, Schwartz, Halliday & Company Certified Public Accountants gave the city a “clean opinion.”

Landrum City Council on Jan. 9 approved expenditures of $87,400 for road improvements and $4,750 to the Landrum High School Athletic Department for end of year banquets.

Quitclaim deed granted to Keystone Storage

In the Jan. 9 Landrum City Council meeting, the council approved the execution and delivery of a quitclaim deed to a portion of Peach Ave. located between Turner St. and East Tucker St. to Keystone Storage.

Landrum discusses, tables licenses for room rentals though Airbnb

Landrum City Council has tabled a decision about ordinance 2018-1 providing for implementations of the provisions of the Fairness in Lodging Act. Discussed at the Jan. 9 meeting, the ordinance creates provisions to allow for requirement of business licenses by those renting rooms in their homes through sites such as Airbnb.
