Adopt-A-Highway clean up day

Sunny skies and cool temperatures were perfect for spying trash and finding recyclables when members of Foothills Riding Club walked the road for their Adopt-A-Highway clean up day. Seven stalwart pickers scoured both sides of Moore Road in the Green Creek area on Dec. 16, and were rewarded with a truck full of trash. Only one treasure was found – a perfect socket for a socket wrench. Picker, Sue Mullen, found the most interesting trash – a small television.

Organizer Hatsie Goodrich happily reported, “Everyone worked hard to clean this lovely country road. We even had a passerby offer his dumpster for disposal.”

Foothills Riding Club (FRC) has taken on this worthy project as another way for the club to give back to the community. Clean up days will be scheduled from time to time and announced on the FRC website. You can check out the site at www.foothillsridingclub.org.  Another clean up day will be scheduled in early spring of 2018. Anyone interested in helping can contact Hatsie at info@foothillsridingclub.org.
