Operation Eagle Claw yields arrests, drug and money seizures

COLUMBUS – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office participated in Operation Eagle Claw last month with several law enforcement agencies, made several arrests, and seized drugs and money.

The operation was focused on the high volume traffic areas such as I-26 and included the sheriff’s office, along with the Columbus Police Department, Saluda Police Department, Grover Police Department, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office and the Spindale Police Department.

The officers made four felony arrests, five misdemeanor arrests, served five warrants, seized 51.3 grams of marijuana, 10 grams of cocaine, six grams of methamphetamine, $3,412 in U.S. currency, gave 50 verbal warnings, 79 warning citations, 11 citations and confiscated three illegal weapons.
