Allison Rhyne of Therapeutic Riding of Tryon (TROT) recently accepted a $500 donation from  Foothills Riding Club (FRC) for the TROT program at FENCE.

The TROT program has been successfully running for 13 years.   As a Premier Accredited Center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International, TROT follows the strict standards set by PATH Intl. for safety and effective teaching.  Volunteers are the heart and soul of TROT. They help students groom and saddle their horses; assist and support the student as side walkers and leaders during each lesson; and assist in barn duties. This fall TROT expanded the program to Polk County High School. The exceptional children class came out once a week for a TROT lesson.

This program will start back up in the spring of 2018. If you are interested in volunteering or have a horse that can volunteer, contact Allison Rhyne at therapeuticriding@fence.org or 828-859-9021.
