Members of Polk County High School’s Key Club collected $760 for UNICEF’s Eliminate Project. The Eliminate Project seeks to end maternal and neonatal tetanus – a deadly disease that takes the lives of 34,000 babies and a significant number of women each year. For about $1.80, a tetanus vaccination can be provided. Throughout the month of October, students participated in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program, carrying around orange boxes and collecting change from friends, family and community members. Last year the club raised around $350 for this project, so the students’ work this year is impressive. Key Club wishes to thank the community for their support of this program.
