TRYON – To bring awareness and encourage conversation and sharing during the holiday season when depression and suicide are at its highest rates, free food will be provided for the community during the Tryon Christmas parade on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
Mary Prioleau and Tamara Black, who put on the annual mental health walk/awareness in the Fall are providing hot dogs, hamburgers and fixings for the community.
The event will be located in front of Taste of Olives, located at 158 N. Trade St.
The food will begin at 4:45 p.m. with the parade beginning at 5 p.m.
The meat has been provided by IGA as well as proceeds from the walk/remembrance, the Town of Tryon, Friends of Harmon Field, Taste of Olives and Paula Kempton.
“We just want folks to know this is a nurturing community where you should never feel alone or lose hope,” said Prioleau.
