Ethel Phillips Trotter, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at her son’s home. She was born March 26, 1933 in Polk County, daughter to the late Luther and Jimmie Pearl Adair Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Lee Trotter.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Terry Lee Trotter of Bessemer City, Carroll Dean Trotter of Bessemer City, Dale Trotter of Bessemer City, Janet T. Ratchford of Stanley, and Mark Trotter of Stanley; brother Glenn Phillips of Rutherfordton; sisters Myrtle Phillips Smith and Kathleen Phillips Tucker of Mill Springs; 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Ethel’s funeral was held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at The Chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Millwood officiating.

Her family received friends from 1-1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment followed in Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
