A group of adventurous Greenville ladies who have been meeting for lunch at a different place every Thursday for more than 50 years made Tryon their first official road trip this past Thursday.

Between them, the close-knit friends boast over 50 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 750 years of life combined.

‘Lunch Bunch’ member, Melanie Mills is the mother of local artist Jennifer Mills who arranged the day and served as tour guide and hostess.

“These ladies are amazing and an inspiration,” said Mills, “They have seen it all and been through so many ups and downs. I think the bond they have keeps them young.”

Highlights included shopping at The Nest, Vines, HOOPS, Olives and Grapes, a visit to the TPS Gallery and finally lunch at Huckelberry’s.

Final words from the group as they departed were, “We’ll be back!”
