A service of Choral Evensong will be presented by the Holy Cross Chancel Choir at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross in Tryon on the First Sunday of Advent, Dec. 3, at 5 p.m. Caroline Rollins will serve as cantor.

Musical settings will include the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in F major by Harold W. Friedell and The St. James Service (Preces and Responses) by Robert J. Powell. The St. James Service was commissioned by St. James Episcopal Church, Hendersonville, N.C. in honor of Brad Gee’s 15th anniversary as director of music and organist at St. James, in 2016.
