Charles K. Davis Sr., 81, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Polk County, N.C., he was the son of the late Fred and Cathleen Burrell Davis. Charles worked as a carpenter for many years and enjoyed woodcrafts and storytelling. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Mill Spring, N.C.

Charles was preceded in death by two babies, Robin Davis and Baby Boy, and two sisters, Annie Raines and Isabell Davis.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Marie Schroyer Davis; three sons, Kimmy Davis (Melinda) of Rutherfordton, N.C., Jimmy Davis (Michelle) of Rutherfordton, N.C., and Bobo Davis (Tana) of Ellenboro, N.C.; one daughter, Judy McAbee (Bobby) of Mill Spring, N.C.; two brothers, William Davis of Green Creek, N.C., and Robert Davis of High Point, N.C., and three sisters, Ila Shook of Columbus, N.C., Lillie Hudson of Tryon, N.C., and Eula Edwards of Green Creek, N.C. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017 from 6-7:30 p.m. at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, N.C.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017 at McFarland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ron Wilkins officiating.

Interment will follow at Mill Spring First Baptist Church Cemetery.

At all other times, the family will be at the home.
