On Halloween evening between 7 and 9:30 p.m. at the closing of the school’s dramatic Black & White Gallery Show, Tryon Arts & Crafts School at 373 Harmon Field Road will be hosting a very special night of ghost story readings from the four winning stories of their Apparitionist National Ghost Story Competition.

The evening will feature a candy bar with sweet treats and start with book signings of “Sleeping at the Foot of the Grave” by Robert Orr and readings by fortune teller Amy Carroll.

Then the lights will darken for the story readings read by seasoned local actors under the direction of Kai Elijah Hamilton: Polk County Heritage Award prize winner, “The Ghost of Three Pee Creek,” by Robert Orr read by Miles Rice; third prize winner, “A Breach in the Night,” by Steve Wong read by Martha Hogenboom; second prize winner, “Let’s Play by Joy Peng,” read by Michelle Fleming; and first prize winner “The Bargain” by Vicki Lane, read by Nickengie A. Sampson
