First graders in the classes of Shea White, Wendi Owens and Kimberly Granville studied the lifecycle of apples and pumpkins through pumpkin investigations, making displays of apple trees throughout the seasons, reading books about apples and pumpkins and much more. At the conclusion of their studies, they visited Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock. At the orchard they went on a hayride, picked apples, sampled apple cider doughnuts, fed the farm animals and got a pumpkin to bring home! (Submitted by PolkStudents.com)
