St. Luke’s Hospital CEO speaking at AAUW

Jim Bross currently serves as CEO of St. Luke’s Hospital of Polk County and the foothills of upstate South Carolina. He will be the guest speaker at the AAUW (American Association of University Women) meeting on Monday, October 23 at the Polk County Public Library. St. Luke’s Hospital is a 25-bed critical access, community acute care hospital. It is a regional affiliate with Carolinas Healthcare System based in Charlotte, N.C.

Bross previously served as the President and CEO of Angel Medical Center as a member of the Mission Health regional executive team. He also served as the past Senior VP and CEO for Rutherford Hospital. Bross has over 33 years of combined hospital, health system and health plan network leadership and consulting experience. He holds a B.A. from Southern Wesleyan University, South Carolina and an MBA from the Citadel, Charleston, South Carolina.

A member of the Rotary Club of Tryon, he has served on local and regional boards, including the Polk County Community Chorus, Western North Carolina Health Network, Crescent Health Solutions, the Macon County Economic Development Commission, Gilliam’s Hope, and the Southern Wesleyan University Business Academic Advisory Board.

Bross and his wife Angie have one daughter, Anna, who is a middle school English teacher in Upstate South Carolina. They currently attend Landrum United Methodist Church.  AAUW meeting are held at 1:30 p.m. every fourth Monday, September – April.  At present, we are meeting in the Polk County Library in Columbus and the public is invited to join.
