The High Ridge Pickers share the tradition of Old Time, Bluegrass and Gospel music during Tryon Fine Arts Center’s  fall series on Oct. 12. TFAC’s outdoor fall series runs through Oct. 26 and highlights an eclectic range of local talent each Thursday starting at 7 p.m. Admission is pay-what-you-can at the door, with 100 percent of donations going to the artists.

A family band, The High Ridge Pickers is composed of Dave, Mary and Ruth Shumway based in Charlotte, N.C. Playing at events throughout the region, the High Ridge Pickers have a passion for family-friendly bluegrass, old time and gospel music that harkens back to the early musical traditions of the area. The band has two albums to date and numerous awards from their time on the fiddler’s convention circuit as well as being a guest act at the International Bluegrass Music Association conference. The High Ridge Pickers’ traditional integrity, energy and top-notch musicianship make them one act not to miss.
