Joe Cooper, chairman of the Polk County Appearance Commission (PCAC), is usually the one giving out the awards to various businesses and public places that have been visually improved. The Saluda Historic Depot returned the gesture by giving PCAC a certificate of appreciation for matching funds they received to buy planters, benches, a kiosk and forged decorative train to enhance the outside appearance of the Depot.
