Saluda approves amendment to tree trimming ordinance
The City of Saluda has new regulations for tree trimming, which are that residents have to clear the area between the edge of pavement and a parallel line located 18 inches from the edge of pavement. Saluda City Council met Sept. 11 and approved the extra clearing for next year. The tree trimming enforcement has already begun this year. Tree trimming contracted by the city for a residence cost the property owner $275.
Polk Fit Challenge kicks off Saturday at Stearns Park
The Polk Fit, Fresh & Friendly’s Polk Fit Challenge will kick off this Saturday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. – noon at Stearns Park in Columbus. The challenge will be throughout the month of October with teams or individuals invited to join in the activities.
