The Carri Bass Art Gallery at 25 S. Trade St, Tryon will host the opening reception of potter Heike Tonhäuser and paper artist Claudia McAninch on Friday, Sept. 22

“Pots and Paper” will show the latest works of these two German-born artists, both of whom now live in the upstate of South Carolina.

Heike’s pottery collections vary from flowing forms inspired by nature to precise clear porcelain vessels. Claudia’s artworks are compositions of paper and cardboard and are deeply influenced by her fascination with patterns, structures, and textures.
