Polk County District Court results

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 266 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Thomas William Arnold was convicted of possess alcohol within 50 ft. of restricted area. Arnold was fined $50.

Dwayne M. Atchison was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation. Atchison’s probation was terminated.

Thomas Scott Bailey was convicted of larceny by trick. Bailey was to pay court costs.

Bobby Dean Burgess was convicted of possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Burges was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for time served.

Michael Callahan was convicted of simple assault. Callahan was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation and court costs.

Mark Randell Cooksey was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Cooksey was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

David Mitchell Crosby was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Crosby was to pay court costs.

Joshua Scott Hicks was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Hicks was fined $40 and court costs.

Christopher M. Koser was convicted of possess alcohol within 50 ft. of restricted area. Koser was fined $50 and court costs.

Kyle Donald McClure was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. McClure was fined $40 and court costs.

Shelly Lee McGivney was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation. McGivney was sentenced to seven days in jail.

James J. McLawhorn was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. McLawhorn was fined $40 and court costs.

Braelyn Metcalf was convicted of felony probation violation out of county and felony possession of cocaine. Metcalf was sentenced to one year supervised probation, court costs and probation terminated.

Daniel Jared Parker was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Parker was fined $100.

Jeremy Tyler Reynolds was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Reynolds was fined $40 and court costs.

Jeffery Jerel Rhodes was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Rhodes was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Deborah Miller Sanders was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation out of county. Sanders’ probation was terminated.

Michael Lee Steele was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Steele was fined $100 and court costs.

Carleigh M. Tenpenny was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Tenpenny was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.

Chasity Ann Todd was convicted of possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Todd was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served.

Jonnie Raymond Wright was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Wright was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.
