Conserving Carolina (formerly Pacolet Area Conservancy (PAC) and Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy (CMLC)) will hold its annual fall fundraiser, “For Land’s Sake,” on Friday, Sept. 22, from 6-9 p.m., at the home of Alan and Jenny Taylor, Thanksgiving Farm.

The event will include hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine, a gourmet dinner prepared by Pat Strother of Impeccable Taste Catering, beautiful mountain views, a fantastic silent auction, and good company!

This has been a truly exciting year for Pacolet Area Conservancy starting with our consolidation with our neighbors at Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy and the adoption of a new name.  We are now Conserving Carolina with two offices, one in Hendersonville, as well as our existing office on Lynn Road between Tryon and Columbus.  Together, Conserving Carolina has been able to achieve a long-standing goal of purchasing a large tract on Little White Oak Mountain (1,068 acres; the former property slated as the Foster Creek Preserve development). As one united organization, we will be able to save more of our mountains, foothills, rivers and farms—the places that you love!  Help us celebrate our achievements as we look to a promising future by joining us at the annual “For Land’s Sake” dinner.

This year’s event will be at Thanksgiving Farm, the home of Alan and Jenny Taylor.  For many years the Tryon Hounds has had its Thanksgiving meet on what became known as Thanksgiving Hill.  Jenny Taylor foxhunts with Tryon Hounds and the Taylors have generously encouraged the tradition to continue.  Part of the farm is protected with a conservation easement that was held by PAC, now Conserving Carolina.  If you did not receive an invitation, please call the Columbus office of Conserving Carolina, 828-859-5060.
