Potter paces Wolverines at WNC Cross Country Carnival

Polk County’s Caleb Potter placed 14th Saturday in the Boys Invitational division of the Western North Carolina Cross Country Carnival in Hendersonville. Potter covered the 5K course at Jackson Park in 18:05.80. Teammate Evan Dadson placed 28th with a time of 18:40.60, with Jack Derkach also breaking 19 minutes at 18:51.60 to finish 31st. Chris Rickman finished in 22:53.20 to round out the competitors for the Wolverines, who didn’t compete in the team portion of the event. The Wolverines had two girls in the Invitational race – Sadie Allen placed 73rd with a time of 25:59.10 while Taytem Johnson recorded a time of 27:56.00. Polk County runners are slated to be back in action next Saturday, traveling to Montreat College for the Hyder-McCahill meet.
