Chef & The Fire Houses to serve Green Creek firefighters

Published 2:45 pm Friday, August 25, 2017

John Cappadona will be back at it again Monday night, as this retired chef cooks up a full meal for Green Creek firefighters. This will be the fourth firehouse he has visited in recent months, preparing full course meals for firefighters and their families as a way to show appreciation for all they do for the community.

The Aug. 28 menu will include flat iron steak, Caesar salad with parmesan crisps, sautéed green beans with Vidalia onions, roasted red bliss potatoes, and his “famous” apple strudel.

A plaque will also be given out Monday night to a deserving firefighter. About 30 people are expected to attend.

After dinner in Green Creek, Cappadona will focus on the Mill Spring and Sunny View fire departments. The community is welcome to contribute to the effort through a GoFundMe account, GoFundMe.com/chef-the-firehouse, or call him at 828-335-4169.
