Charlene Bumiller – Tryon Little Theater’s budding poet

Sweet Charlene Bumiller, a senior at Tuna High School, is the winner of this year’s Javelina Club’s poetry writing contest. Her love of Tuna, her home town in Texas, is evident in the opening stanza of her award-winning poem, “My Tuna”:

My Tuna, oh my Tuna

The only place I know

but don’t know where I’d go

You’ll meet Charlene and learn more about her aspirations when you see Tryon Little Theater’s production of “Greater Tuna,” opening September 14 at the Tryon Little Theater’s Workshop at 516 S. Trade St. in Tryon.
