The family of Mrs. Ruth King Porter would like to acknowledge the loving response they received from her church family and surrounding community. Mrs. Porter departed this earthly home on August 8, 2017.

She was the daughter of the late George Edward Porter, S DC. She was a member of the St. Luke CME Church in Tryon, N.C. and served as a missionary, musician and recording steward. She was a 50-year member of the Inman Delight OES Inman, S.C. Mrs. Porter retired as a teacher from Spartanburg County public school system.

Survivors are her daughter, Kimberly Porter, and granddaughter, Sable August Porter, both of the home.
