Celebrate your appreciation of trees with us at photographer Ruthie Rosauer’s signing of her new book, “These Trees,” at Tryon Arts & Crafts School at 373 Harmon Field Road on July 22, 2017 from 10 a.m. – noon. There will be cello music and poetry reading provided by Carol Pearce Bjorlie (one of 20 poets who contributed poems about trees in the book), refreshments and displays of Ruthie’s gorgeous tree photographs.

The photograph, “Tree Spirit,” featured on the cover of her book won an award at TACS’ Juried Show last year and prints are available in TACS’ gift shop.

“These Trees,” published by Rose River Press (2017), is a valentine to the arboreal world. There are over 140 beautiful photographs of trees, with over 40 of them taken in Western North Carolina. The book is divided into six chapters: Bark, Leaves, Roots, Shapes, Crowning Glories (nuts, flowers and fruit) and Whole Trees. Twenty-five poems about trees accompany the photographs.
