The Salvation Army of Henderson, Polk and Transylvania counties announces the inaugural Red Shield Classic golf tournament. The 18-hole event will be held on Monday, May 8 at Cummings Cove Golf and Country Club. Each player will receive a boxed lunch and a polo shirt. There will be prizes for Low Net and Low Gross as well as six hole-in-one prizes including $10,000 in cash, golf vacations as well as equipment and shopping sprees. There will also be lots of door prizes. Proceeds from the event will benefit those in need in the tri-county area.
