Professional artists bring visions of unity to life

Tryon Fine Arts Center technical director Jimm Brink prepares three plywood panels to be a ‘blank canvas’ for the community. They may be unassuming now, but over the next month a team of artists will turn these panels into a stunning vision of unity in the foothills.

The Unity Project has invited a team of artists to work together to define their individual and collective view of what “unity” means on three 4 foot by 6 foot panels. The professional, local artists will donate their time and talents to bring the vision to life and the completed panels will be displayed at Tryon Fine Arts Center and throughout the community beginning Sunday, May 7.

Participating artists include project-coordinator Patricia Cole-Ferullo, Janet Orselli, Douglas Chamberlain, Christine Mariotti, Michael Darpino, Grace Letora, Alice Carey, Paula Rosen, Annette Wells, and consulting artist Eric McRay.
