Tryon Arts and Crafts School’s upcoming show, entitled Crossroads, a Collaborative Gallery Show, opens on April 7 and runs through May 12. The primary feature of the show will be a collaborative installation by four regional artists – Doug Dacey, Barney Eiserloh, Christine Mariotti and Julia McIntyre – all working together in different mediums to create a large central work on the theme of “crossroads.” 

The artists will also be teaming up for two-person collaborative works that will be displayed in their individual sections. Each artist’s section will look like a pathway, and their art will depict their personal artistic journey, leading up to the installation in the here and now. The show will also feature two dozen single and collaborative works by additional artists as well. 

To Artistic Director Kai Elijah Hamilton, “It has been an amazing experience, thus far, seeing these four very different artists with different medium specialties and backgrounds come together and start creating this memorable beast of an installation. I have been working with them closely to spark ideas and inspiration, slowly backing away to let them take the lead. I think that art enthusiasts will be excited to see this show. It is certainly unique in that it brought four individuals from different walks of life together that may never have worked together–hence the title, “Crossroads.”
