What you need to know

Individuals who register for the free collage workshop during Unity in The Community’s, Saturday April 1 Taste of Art held at Tryon Fine Art Center will have a rare opportunity to work with one of North Carolina’s leading African American artist. Eric McRay is an artist known for his vibrant Collages depicting southern African America life and Jazz paintings celebrating legendary Jazz artists.  Eric McRay has been featured in numerous publications, television and radio interviews. McRay’s style has been referred to as contemporary modern and his work can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. 

Collage workshop participants should be aware of the workshop details.

• Space is limited to 25 per session, one panel per household. Registration required.
• Basic art supplies are provided: canvas, paint, glue and paper.
• Participants are encouraged to bring newspaper print, fabrics, personal pictures that can be used to make a multilayer collage.
• Panels will remain at Tryon Fine Art Center.
• Participant’s panel will be part of 200+ panel exhibit starting on May 7 at the Tryon Fine Art Center.
• Individuals can claim their panel at the conclusion of the 30 day exhibit
