Modern advances in cataract surgery

The lens of the eye is normally clear, but as we age the lens continues to grow and thicken, slowly becoming opaque and forming a cataract. Cataracts are usually formed by the natural aging of the eye and are a common cause of decreased vision as we age. While not all cataracts are bothersome, if they do become a problem, cataracts can only be removed through surgery.

Join ophthalmologist Thomas Perraut, MD, for lunch as he presents “Modern Advances in Cataract Surgery.” This free “Lunch and Learn” will be held at noon, Tuesday, March 28, in the boardroom at St. Luke’s Hospital. Dr. Perraut will discuss cataract surgery with a special emphasis on the least invasive and most comfortable techniques–.
