Advance Auto employees arrested for larceny

COLUMBUS – The Columbus Police Department recently arrested two employees of Advance Auto Parts in Columbus on larceny and other charges.

Cody Lee Horton, 23, of 2293 Houston Rd., Columbus was arrested and charged with 12 counts of conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense, larceny by employee, obtaining property by false pretense, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Dillon Reno Alexander, 23, also of 2293 Houston Rd., Columbus, was arrested and charged with 11 counts of larceny by employee, 10 counts of obtaining property by false pretense, 10 counts of conspiracy to commit larceny, 10 counts of identity theft, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia, according to police reports.

Horton and Alexander were both arrested on Feb. 21 following several larcenies that took place at Advanced Auto Parts, located in Columbus.

Columbus Police Chief Chris Beddingfield said both Horton and Alexander were employees at Advance Auto at the time of the larcenies.

The Columbus Police Department during the investigation into the larcenies executed a search warranted at 2293 Houston Road that also resulted in officers discovering marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the police report.

Horton and Alexander were transported to the Polk County Jail following the arrest where both are currently out on bond. The men each have a court date set in Polk County District Court for Wednesday, March 15.
