Polk County Schools and Tryon International Equestrian Center have teamed up to offer good meals for a good cause to all area residents.

Roger’s Diner, located on the TIEC grounds, will hold Wolverine Night on Feb. 21 from 3-9 p.m. A portion of each meal sold during that period will be donated to benefit the academic and athletic programs in Polk County Schools.

“We appreciate the support of Tryon International Equestrian Center and Roger’s Diner and hope this is the start of a long and beneficial partnership,” said Polk County Schools Superintendent Aaron Greene. “It is rewarding any time a local business offers its support for the students in our community, and we hope everyone will show their appreciation for this support by enjoying the good food at Roger’s Diner.”

Anyone attending Wolverine Night is urged to wear Polk County colors and let Roger’s Diner staff know they are attending for the event.

There will also be fun activities, contests and prizes for younger students until around 6:30 p.m. and then for older students thereafter.

Roger’s Diner offers a menu of classic and Southern favorites such as burgers, patty melts, grits and milkshakes along with breakfast all day and gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian choices.

The diner’s shiny metallic exterior and green pinstripe boasts an authentic 50s vibe, and patrons can sit outside at covered patio tables or inside the “Happy Days”-era restaurant at comfortable banquettes, booths or a traditional lunch counter.
