Elaine Schappet Haines, age 91, a longtime resident of Tryon, N.C. died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at Fairhaven Home in Forest City. Elaine was born on June 19, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pa. and was a daughter of the late John C. and Marie Schappet. Her career was spent helping others as a registered nurse.

Surviving are two sons, Barry Flood of Spartanburg, S.C., Steven Flood of Westwood, Ma., her closest granddaughter, Tricia Gilliland of Campobello, S.C., three other grandchildren as well as a number of great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
