Big Brothers Big Sisters “Have a HeArt” project

I urge everyone to visit the Upstairs Artspace as soon as possible to see the latest exhibit of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Have a HeArt project. This is the fifth annual show and in my opinion it gets better and better every year.
What started out as just another fundraiser, seems to be gaining momentum with artists in western North Carolina and the Upstate. They see it as a chance to switch gears, have some fun, and showcase their talents—as well as an opportunity to raise funds for this wonderful organization.
Opening night was jam-packed, and if past years are anything to go by, closing night (when there’s a mad rush to secure bids on the art work) will be even more raucous! I usually have a couple of pieces I have my eye on, but when that closing bell sounds I always know I’ve lost at least one piece to a so-called “good friend”! Ha!
But seriously, everyone is invited to take part in this, whether you bid or not. It celebrates and supports all the good work Big Brothers Big Sisters does in this community, and if you can walk away with a piece of art work, that’s even better. Closing reception is Saturday, Feb. 11 from 4-6 p.m., with bids closing promptly at 6 p.m.
See you there!
