Polk County Historical Association (PCHA) will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the Polk County Museum at 60 Walker Street in Columbus. The speaker will be Garland Goodwin, who is a long-time member of the community – a historian, writer, designer, engineer, piano tuner and player, singer, and sports car enthusiast – some identify him as “a Jack of all trades.” He has written columns for the Tryon Daily Bulletin from 1995 through 2016 and produced several books from his columns.
Goodwin was president of the Polk County Historical Association (PCHA) for several years. He is a great source of information about Polk County leaders and local history. Come and hear a born story-teller relate local history tales. Discover more about the Polk County Historical Association at polknchistory.org.
