Meghan Baker, Extension Educator, Buncombe County, an avid naturalist and pollinator enthusiast, will be the guest speaker at the Foothills Association of Master Gardeners’ lecture series on Feb. 6 at 1:30 p.m. The presentation will be at the new Polk County Extension Office at 79 Carmel Lane in Columbus (behind the Senior Center on Skyuka Road). It’s open to the public, free of charge and no reservation is required.
The impacts of climate change are expected to shift the evolutionary balance between flowering plants and their native pollinators.
Understanding the complexities of plant-pollinator relationships benefits gardeners aiming to conserve native plants and the pollinators on which they depend.
Baker will discuss the many plant and pollinator relationships that may be impacted in the area, and what a gardener can to do to help pollinators.
