Faye Odel

Caroline Faye Odel, 92, of Columbus, N.C., died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in her home.

Born in Inman, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Fanny Messer Hudgins. She was the widow of Albert Odel, who passed away in 1998. Faye and her husband were dairy farmers for over 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, reading and painting. She was a member of Big Level Baptist Church where she loved teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are two sons, Roger Odel (Shirley) and Bruce Odel (Lou) both of Mill Spring, N.C.; a daughter, Christine Edwards (Stanley) of Columbus, N.C.; four grandchildren, Angela Hurst (David), Amy Buchannan (Nathan), John Odel (Tonya), and Stephen Odel (Angie). Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Peyton, Ella, Bryson, Gavin, James, Reid, and Joshua.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Big Level Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Orr, Rev. Steve Abe, and Bro. Danny Siegfried officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be in Big Level Baptist Church Cemetery.
