Jim Carson, AIS, will offer a workshop, titled “Painting in the Studio/Brushwork Boot Camp,” Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 26-28. This indoor painting workshop provides a good learning environment for students to grasp the basic fundamentals of contemporary impressionist painting.

The workshop will concentrate on values, design, and temperature variety, all while simplifying the painting approach to achieve spontaneous and bold brushwork.

The students will paint from photo references and/or still life set-ups in the studio. There will be lots of one-on-one easel time, demonstrations by Carson on Thursday and Friday, and a general critique of the day’s work at the end of each day.
