Saluda controls fire at Camp Bob Hardin

SALUDA – The Saluda Fire and Rescue Department controlled a woods fire at Camp Bob Hardin on Thursday, Dec. 29.

The department was called around 4 p.m. to a smoke complaint in the area of Camp Bob Hardin.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered loose burning fire that was going up the ridge, according to reports. The fire burned between five and seven acres, according to the Saluda Fire and Rescue.

Saluda was assisted by the Tryon Fire Department and the N.C. Forest Service.

The fire was contained quickly, according to the fire department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
