Community asked to donate blood Jan. 5

Published 10:00 pm Friday, December 30, 2016

It’s been a whirlwind of a holiday season, but St. Luke’s Hospital is asking the community to give just one more gift − the gift of life! And for a donation of life-saving blood, all donors will get a few gifts in exchange − a really neat sweatshirt, two movie tickets and 200 TBC Rewards Points that can be redeemed for prizes or various gift cards on TBC’s website, TheBloodConnection.org.

St. Luke’s first blood drive of 2017 is set for Thursday, Jan. 5, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., but donors can make a convenient appointment by calling 828-233-5302. The Blood Connection’s (TBC) mobile bus will be parked on the MRI pad near the Rehab Center. TBC staff will determine eligibility for those who’d like to donate blood, and all donors must present a valid, government-issued photo ID or a TBC donor card.

The Blood Connection provides blood products to meet patient needs at St. Luke’s and all neighboring hospitals so donors can but sure their blood donation is used in their community.
