Big Brothers Big Sisters announces their annual Have a HeArt for Big Brothers Big Sisters opening on Jan. 28 at the Upstairs Artspace in Tryon. Area artists are invited to submit entries with a heart/love theme in whatever medium best suits the artist.

Fresh new directions are encouraged, as there will be only a limited number of the traditional ceramic heart forms available to artists. “HeArt work” should be no larger than approximately 12 inches by 12 inches to allow for space considerations in the gallery.

The Have a HeArt project is a silent auction to benefit BBBS, with bids continuing through the closing reception on Feb. 11, timed to conclude before Valentine’s Day for those choosing a unique heart for someone special. HeArt lovers will be vying for their favorite pieces as gifts or to enhance their own collections, while showing support for the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.
