Nancy Owens Hammett died peacefully on Nov. 24, 2016 at White Oak Nursing Home in Tryon, N.C.

She was born May 25, 1934 in Tryon, N.C. Nancy was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grover Ford of Tryon, N.C. She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar C. Owens.

She is survived by two sons, Danny Owens (Sharon) of Landrum, S.C., Scott Owens (Rita) of Tryon, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Wilson, Danielle Klepper, Kristin Strand and Sheldon Owens; four great grandchildren, Daniel Erwin, Sarah Wilson, Sawyer Klepper and Gunnar Owens; two sisters, Margaret Wilson and Betty Ford.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
