Beginning today, Tuesday, Nov. 8, Warming The View will open drop-off locations for residents to donate coats and blankets in several locations throughout the county.

From Nov. 8-Nov. 19, residents can drop off coats and blankets at McGuinn’s Store in Sunny View, the Tryon Coffeehouse in Tryon, The Nest Artisan Market in Landrum, Larkin’s Carolina Grill in Columbus and the Mill Spring Farm Store in Mill Spring.

All stores will accept donations during each store’s normal business hours.

“We are very humbled by the generosity from everyone,” said Warming The View organizers Dee O’Brien and Lisa Moser. “Our message is simple: community helping community. We are truly overwhelmed by the love and support from our neighbors and community at large.”

This is Warming The View’s third year distributing coats and blankets to those in need for the winter months. This year the effort expanded to beyond the Sunny View community as organizers partnered for Fall For Your Neighbor at the Mill Spring Farm Store. Coats and blankets will be donated to those in need in Sunny View as well as other Polk County communities this year.

The distribution of the coats and blankets will be on Dec. 10 at the Mill Spring Farm Store.
