Polk County’s cross country teams enjoyed a solid day Saturday at the 44th annual Trailblazer Invitational in Gray, Tenn.

A number of runners on both the boys and girls teams set personal records despite a wet course. A drizzle pelted the runners until shortly before the start of the meet.

India Godlock ran her fastest time of the season, a 20:33, to lead the Wolverine girls while Evan Dadson ran the fastest time of his career, a 19:24, to lead the Polk County boys. Godlock placed 12th overall in the field of more than 150 runners.

Other Wolverines setting personal records were Bryan Dadson, Connor Holtz, Tyler Lawrence, Emmett Zacharias, Kalob Jackson, Will Krause, Patrick McIntyre and Jacob Petoia for the boys and Abigail Amato, Drew Bailey, Selena Chavez, Izzy Jackson, Nichole Mott and Madison Poe for the girls.

“The course was wet and slick with a mild wind and yet the Wolverines gave it all they had and made us proud,” said Polk County head coach Alan Peoples.
