“I’ve always enjoyed the bouquet and flavor of muscadine grapes ripening in late summer. Muscadine vineyards give you the opportunity to make lots of jelly,” says Jimmi Buell, extension agent.
Muscadine grapes are plentiful in Polk County, so preserve them and enjoy the summer’s sweetness all year around.
Polk County Cooperative Extension is offering a muscadine jelly making class on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. There’s small fee for the class. Call the Polk County Cooperative Extension at 828-894-8218 to reserve your space.
