Polk County Memorial VFW Auxiliary #9116 will lay a wreath in honor of Gold Star and Blue Star Mothers and light a candle in honor of the Prisoners of War and Missing In Action at the Brick Memorial at 11 a.m. on Sept. 12, followed by a 9-11 Ceremony with the VFW Post #9116 to honor all of Polk County Emergency Personnel at the Columbus Town Hall.

This will be a first for Polk County to have a VFW Auxiliary national president, Colette Bishop, and the NC VFW Auxiliary state president, Joyce Preston, here in Polk County. The public is invited to honor these 9-11 heroes with us.
