Reverend Michael Carter to speak on “Desire” at the Tryon UUF

Is “desire” a universal human longing? What is it about human life that motivates us to desire greater heights and accomplishments? Can this inner desire or longing be a blessing as well as a curse? Is it the search for authenticity with ourselves, others and the entire planet? Is it really the search for inner peace? My desire to unearth the “real me,” “the pearl of great price,” stubbornly persists, despite all of my efforts to self-sabotage and ignore it. As usual, there are always more questions than answers. Let’s talk about “desire.”
Reverend Michael Carter serves the UU Fellowship in Black Mountain and often speaks at the Tryon Fellowship. It meets Sunday, Aug. 21 at 10:30 a.m.
