The Big Cart, as it is referred, is a 13-feet-tall by 15-feet-long shopping cart with a Chevrolet 396 V-8 engine and is 100 percent funded by N.C. businesses such as House-Autry Mills, Malt-O-Meal, Anne’s Flat Dumplings, Neese’s Sausage and Nature’s Own.

The Big Cart debuted at the Raleigh Farmers Market Festival on July 13, 2006. The cart was put into motion to place emphasis on the numerous agricultural products grown or processed in the state. Agriculture is the number one industry in North Carolina and contributes approximately $70 billion to the economy.
